About the role

I’m currently working with a globally recognised insurance broker that has achieved consistent year-on-year growth and is offering a genuinely exciting and lucrative opportunity.

They’re looking to recruit a Development Executive to join their East Anglia team, offering a fully remote contract with a competitive salary, car allowance and attractive bonus scheme.

You will Focus on business development, client acquisition, and relationship management, with dedicated teams in East Anglia and London supporting placement strategy, insurer negotiations and technical broking

The business has highly successful teams operating under the same model elsewhere in the UK, so you would be joining a proven framework with a strong track record of success.

About the role:

Build and maintain strong relationships with bank managers across your region, generating client referrals and developing new business opportunities while taking ownership of your territory

Benefit from a referral-led model built around warm introductions and established partnerships, with no requirement for cold calling

Follow up on referrals and generate your own opportunities during quieter periods

Meet prospective clients as a partner, taking the time to understand their business and insurance needs and identifying opportunities to improve cover and potentially reduce costs

Target businesses with annual turnover of approximately £10m to £350m

Work closely with the Heads of Branch to match each client with an Account Executive who understands their sector

Be supported by an Account Executive, allowing you to focus on winning new business without the responsibility of servicing and retaining an existing book of clients

Attend client meetings alongside the relevant Account Executive, help develop the opportunity and arrange the Letter of Appointment when the client is ready to proceed

Once the business is secured, hand the account over to the broking team, with the Account Executive managing the ongoing client relationship

Build your network through client meetings, industry events and regular engagement with banking partners across the region

Take ownership of your territory and pipeline, driving new business opportunities and contributing to the growth of the business

About you:

Experience within the insurance industry and a good understanding of commercial insurance

You may already be a Development Executive, Account Executive, Producer, or Business Development professional looking for your next challenge without being tied down retaining and servicing a book

Alternatively, you could be an ambitious Account Handler, Account Manager, or SME insurance professional with strong relationship-building skills and a desire to move into a more sales-focused role

A natural relationship builder who enjoys networking and creating trusted partnerships

Self-motivated, proactive, and driven to achieve results whilst maintaining a client-first approach

Comfortable working independently and managing a regional territory, with the support of an established team and referral network

Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, partners, and insurers

A track record of developing and converting new business opportunities

A team player who values collaboration and contributes to a positive, high-performing culture

Eligible to work in the UK and willing to travel within the region as required

Benefits:

100% Remote contract, allowing you to build your network across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, and Essex

Competitive bonus scheme

Car Allowance
